Ashwagandha

Ashwagandha is an ancient Ayurvedic medicinal herb that has been used for over 3000 years to support stress anxiety, depression and other mental health conditions.

A number of controlled clinical studies have been able to demonstrate ashwagandha supplements ability to reduce symptoms in people with anxiety, panic disorders and specifically agoraphobia (anxiety especially in open or crowded places).

Ashwagandha has been shown to substantially reduce cortisol levels. Cortisol is the stress hormone that goes up when we are stressed out! Cortisol also creates long-term fatigue and mental fogginess. When cortisol is too high brain structures relating too emotion and memory are damaged.

 

*To ensure you have the highest amount of ashwagandha in your system when cortisol spikes, it is advised to take ashwagandha before bed if your anxiety peaks in the morning or to take it in the morning if your anxiety spikes during the day.
